Miss Jamaica Universe

Miss Universe is an annual international beauty contest that’s run by the Miss Universe Organization. It was founded in 1952, and Jamaica first participated in 1986 when Liliana Cisneros won the Miss Jamaica Universe pageant. Although Jamaica has never won the Miss Universe pageant, we have enjoyed significant success including four top ten finishes – Sandra Foster (1989), Kimberely Mais (1991), Nicole Haughton (1999) and Christine Straw (2004). Several other Jamaican beauties have also helped to raise Jamaica’s profile at the international pageant including Sanya Hughes, Rachel Stuart, Justine Willoughby, Bridgette Rhoden and Zahra Redwood (the first Rastafarian beauty queen to appear in a major international pageant).
