It was a nail-biting finish at the Miss Universe 2010 pageant at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas earlier this evening, as Jamaica’s very own, Yendi Phillipps, put the controversy that dogged her Miss Jamaica Universe crowning behind her, and placed 2nd to Miss Mexico, Jimena Navarrete.
Phillipps did well throughout, being front and centre in the dance routine that kicked off the live broadcast on NBC-TV. She polled the most points in the swimsuit contest, and second-most in the evening gown section. She also handled herself very well in the interview section, where she was asked a tough question about capital punishment.
In the end, Yendi Phillipps made herself and all Jamaica proud, as she was named the 1st runner up in the 2010 Miss Universe 2010 pageant. Congratulations and kudos to her!

Had to work and missed the competition; but Yendi is a very beautiful girl and she has done well for herself as well as representing our island. I wish her all the best and hopes she makes the best of these opportunities. She should consider entering Ms. World.
