This year, the Miss Jamaica Universe pageant celebrates its 25th anniversary, and plans are afoot for the Miss Jamaica Universe 2010 pageant to be bigger and better than ever before. Here are some of the plans for this year’s Miss Universe:
- All Star Weekend – it will be a full weekend of top notch events featuring several international and local celebrities including multi-Grammy award-winning artistes
- Launch party at the National Indoor Sports Centre on Friday, July 2
- Grand coronation show at the National Stadium (taking it back to the glory days of the past when it was a national event) on Saturday, July 3
- After-party on Sunday, July 4
- Prize package that’s ‘fit for a queen’ – Miss Jamaica Universe 2010 will walk away with a J$1 million cash prize, a car valued between J$3 million and J$4 million, make-up courtesy of Face Forward, free travel courtesy of Skylan Airlines, a complete wardrobe, among other prizes. The high school that the 2010 Miss Jamaica Universe winner attended, will also receive $1 million in aid of their building fund. Notably, every contestant who places in the top 10 will likely receive endorsement deals along with other prizes. All contestants will also receive discounts and benefits from the various Miss Jamaica Universe sponsors
- Contestants will be trained – all the Miss Jamaica Universe 2010 contestants will be trained by experts in the various fields of beauty and pageantry, including media, speech, poise and etiquette
